The light separator ridge is, according to the Handbook of the Natural Region Divisions of Germany , a small-scale nature Spatial unit with the order number 338.05 on the city of Wuppertal and is one of the superior natural environment Bergische plateaus (338).

The ridge, named after the dominant elevation of Lichtscheid , is divided into the natural spatial units of Lichtscheider mountain ridge in the narrower sense (338.050) and Burgholzberge (338.051).
