Pedro María Olmedo Rivero CMF (born October 21, 1944 in San Juan de Asnalfarache , Spain ) is a Spanish religious and emeritus Roman Catholic prelate of Humahuaca .

Life

Pedro María Olmedo Rivero joined the order of the Claretians and was ordained a priest on June 9, 1972 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of Humahuaca on July 7, 1993 . The bishop of Jujuy , Raúl Arsenio Casado , ordained him episcopal on September 25th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Gerardo Eusebio Sueldo , coadjutor bishop of Santiago del Estero , and Moisés Julio Blanchoud , archbishop of Salta .

On October 23, 2019, Pope Francis accepted Pedro María Olmedo Rivero's resignation due to reasons of age.
