Moisés Julio Blanchoud

Moisés Julio Blanchoud (born September 4, 1923 in Esperanza , † February 28, 2016 in Santa Fe ) was an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Salta .

Life

Moisés Julio Blanchoud was ordained a priest on December 14, 1947 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him on February 13, 1960 titular bishop of Belali and auxiliary bishop in Río Cuarto . The Archbishop of Santa Fe , Nicolás Fasolino , donated him episcopal ordination on April 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Alfonso María Buteler , Bishop of Mendoza , and Manuel Marengo , Bishop of Azul .

On September 6, 1962, he was appointed Bishop of Río Cuarto , and on March 7, the next year, he was instituted.

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On January 7, 1984, he was appointed Archbishop of Salta by Pope John Paul II and was introduced to the office on March 31 of the same year. On August 6, 1999, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation. From October 1st, 2002 to March 30th, 2003 he was Apostolic Administrator of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz during the Sedis vacancy .
