Leopoldo Buteler

Leopoldo Buteler (born April 22, 1882 in Los Molinos, Calamuchita Department , Argentina ; † July 22, 1961 in Sampacho, Río Cuarto Department , Argentina) was Bishop of Río Cuarto .

Life

Leopoldo Buteler studied humanities, philosophy and theology at the seminary in Córdoba and received on 17 June 1905, the priestly ordination by Bishop Zenón Bustos y Ferreyra for the diocese of Cordoba .

Pope Pius XI appointed him on January 8, 1932 titular bishop of Tinum and auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Córdoba. The episcopal ordination donated to him Fermín Emilio Lafitte , Bishop of Córdoba, on June 5, 1932; Co- consecrators were Miguel de Andrea , Auxiliary Bishop in Buenos Aires , and Ramón Harrison Abello OdeM, Bishop Prelate of Bom Jesus do Piauí in Brazil.

On September 13, 1934 he was appointed by Pope Pius XI. appointed first bishop of the newly founded diocese of Río Cuarto . The inauguration took place on March 21 of the following year.
