Mario Antonio Cargnello (born March 20, 1952 in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca , Province of Catamarca , Argentina ) is Archbishop of Salta .

Life

Mario Antonio Cargnello was ordained a priest on November 8, 1975 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Orán on April 7, 1994 . He received his episcopal ordination on June 24th of the same year by the Bishop of Catamarca , Elmer Osmar Ramón Miani ; Co- consecrators were Moisés Julio Blanchoud , Archbishop of Salta, and Gerardo Eusebio Sueldo , Bishop of Santiago del Estero . The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on July 16 of the same year.

On June 24, 1998, John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Archbishop of Salta. After Moisé Julio Blanchoud's retirement , he succeeded him on August 6, 1999 in the office of Archbishop of Salta.
