Jorge Rubén Lugones

Jorge Rubén Lugones SJ (born July 31, 1952 in Veinticinco de Mayo ) is an Argentine clergyman and bishop of Lomas de Zamora .

Life

Jorge Rubén Lugones joined the religious community of the Jesuits , made his profession on April 22, 1979 and was ordained a priest on December 3, 1988 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Orán on June 2, 1999 . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires , Jorge Mario Bergoglio SJ, gave him episcopal ordination on July 30th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Juan José Iriarte , Senior Archbishop of Resistencia , and Carmelo Juan Giaquinta , Archbishop of Resistencia. The inauguration in the diocese of Orán took place on August 6th of the same year.

On October 14, 2008, he was appointed Bishop of Lomas de Zamora and on November 22 of the same year he was appointed to the office.
