Juan José Iriarte

Juan José Iriarte (born December 13, 1913 in Buenos Aires , Argentina , † August 16, 1999 ) was Archbishop of Resistencia .

Life

After studying Catholic theology and philosophy, Juan José Iriarte received the sacrament of ordination on September 20, 1947 .

On October 23, 1957, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the first bishop of Reconquista . The auxiliary bishop of Buenos Aires, Manuel Tato , donated to him on 27 December of the same year in the Basilica of St. Rose of Lima , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the bishop of San Isidro , Antonio María Aguirre , and the auxiliary bishop of Buenos Aires, Guillermo Bolatti . The inauguration took place on January 12, 1958.

On February 28, 1984, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Resistencia. On November 9, 1991, Pope John Paul II accepted Juan José Iriarte's resignation due to reasons of age.

Juan José Iriarte attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
