Carlos Parteli Keller

Carlos Parteli Keller (born March 8, 1910 in Rivera , Uruguay , † May 26, 1999 ) was a Uruguayan clergyman and archbishop of Montevideo .

Life

Carlos Parteli Keller received on 15 April 1933, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 3, 1960, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the first bishop of Tacuarembó . The Apostolic Nuncio in Uruguay, Archbishop Raffaele Forni , donated him episcopal ordination on December 27 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Florida , Umberto Tonna Zanotta , and the Bishop Emeritus of Florida, Miguel Paternain CSsR . The inauguration took place on January 8, 1961.

On February 27, 1966, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Turris in Mauretania and ordered him to Koadjutorerzbischof of Montevideo. Carlos Parteli Keller became Archbishop of Montevideo on November 17, 1976, succeeding Cardinal Antonio María Barbieri, OFMCap , who had retired for reasons of age .

On June 5, 1985, Pope John Paul II accepted Carlos Parteli Keller's resignation due to reasons of age.

Carlos Parteli Keller attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
