Carmelo Juan Giaquinta

Carmelo Juan Giaquinta (born June 22, 1930 in Buenos Aires , † June 22, 2011 ) was an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Resistencia .

Life

Carmelo Juan Giaquinta was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires on April 4, 1953 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Viedma and titular bishop of Zama Minor on March 11, 1980 . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires , Juan Carlos Cardinal Aramburu , donated him episcopal ordination on May 30 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Miguel Hesayne , Bishop of Viedma, and Octavio Nicolás Derisi , Auxiliary Bishop in La Plata .

On June 16, 1986, he was appointed Bishop of Posadas . He was appointed Archbishop of Resistencia on March 22, 1993, and was introduced to office on June 6 of the same year. He resigned from his office on April 1, 2005.
