The Roman Catholic Diocese of Posadas ( lat. : Dioecesis Posadensis , span. : Diócesis de Posadas ) is in Argentina situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Posadas .

history

The diocese of Posadas was on February 11, 1957 by Pope Pius XII. built with the papal bull Quandoquidem adoranda from cession of territory of the diocese of Corrientes . On June 16, 1986, parts of the territory of the diocese were separated with the papal bull Abeunt alterna vice to establish the diocese of Puerto Iguazú . On June 13, 2009 the diocese of Posadas gave up parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Oberá .

The diocese of Posadas is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Corrientes as a suffragan .
