Alfonso Delgado Evers (born June 21, 1942 in Rosario ) is an Argentine clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of San Juan de Cuyo .

Life

Alfonso Delgado Evers joined Opus Dei and was ordained a priest on June 23, 1970 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Santo Tomé on March 20, 1986 . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires , Juan Carlos Cardinal Aramburu , ordained him episcopal on April 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Jorge Manuel López , Archbishop of Rosario , and Fortunato Antonio Rossi , Archbishop of Corrientes . The inauguration in the diocese took place on May 11 of the same year. As a motto he chose Ut eatis .

He was named Bishop of Posadas on February 25, 1994, and was instituted on May 1 of the same year. On March 29, 2000, he was appointed Archbishop of San Juan de Cuyo and on May 24 of the same year he was introduced to the office.

Pope Francis accepted his resignation on June 17, 2017, four days before reaching the age limit.
