Fortunato Antonio Rossi

Fortunato Antonio Rossi (born January 19, 1919 in Gualeguaychú , † August 21, 1999 ) was an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Corrientes .

Life

Fortunato Antonio Rossi received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Paraná on December 20, 1942 .

On July 24, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of dices and it ordered the auxiliary bishop in Paraná. The Archbishop of Paraná, Zenobio Lorenzo Guilland , donated him episcopal ordination on October 22nd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Catamarca , Adolfo Servando Tortolo , and the Bishop of Gualeguaychú , Jorge Ramón Chalup .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on August 12, 1963 Bishop of Venado Tuerto . The inauguration took place on March 7, 1964. Paul VI appointed him on November 11, 1977. to the Bishop of San Nicolás de los Arroyos . The inauguration took place on January 2, 1978.

On November 26, 1983, Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Corrientes. The inauguration took place on March 17, 1984. On April 7, 1994, Pope John Paul II accepted the resignation put forward by Juan José Iriarte for reasons of age.

Fortunato Antonio Rossi participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
