Domingo Salvador Castagna

Domingo Salvador Castagna (born January 12, 1931 in Buenos Aires ) is Old Archbishop of Corrientes .

Life

Domingo Salvador Castagna was ordained a priest on December 5, 1954 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Buenos Aires and titular bishop of Germania in Numidia on November 24, 1978 . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires and Ordinary of the Byzantine Believers in Argentina , Juan Carlos Cardinal Aramburu , donated him episcopal ordination on December 29th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Vicente Faustino Zazpe , Archbishop of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz , and Manuel Marengo , Bishop of Azul .

He was appointed Bishop of San Nicolás de los Arroyos on August 28, 1984 and was introduced to the office on October 20 of the same year. He was named Archbishop of Corrientes on June 22, 1994 and introduced to the office on August 27 of the same year.

On September 27, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
