Andrés Stanovnik OFMCap (born December 15, 1949 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine clergyman and Archbishop of Corrientes .

Life

Andrés Stanovnik joined the religious order of the Capuchins , made his profession on July 16, 1978 and was ordained a priest on September 2, 1978 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Reconquista on October 30, 2001 . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge Mario Cardinal Bergoglio SJ , donated his episcopal ordination on December 16 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Juan Rubén Martinez , Bishop of Posadas , Santos Abril y Castelló , Apostolic Nuncio in Argentina , Juan Rodolfo Laise , Old Bishop of San Luis , and Gustavo Arturo Help , Bishop of Venado Tuerto .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on September 27, 2007 Archbishop of Corrientes.

On September 5, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America .
