Rino Carlesi

Rino Carlesi MCCJ (born August 11, 1922 in Montemurlo , Tuscany , Italy , † August 25, 1999 ) was bishop of Balsas .

Life

Rino Carlesi joined the Congregation of the Comboni Missionaries in and received on 31 May 1947, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 12, 1967, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Africa and it ordered the prelates of Santo Antônio de Balsas. The Bishop of Pistoia , Mario Longo Dorni , ordained him as a bishop on April 2nd of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Prato , Pietro Fiordelli , and the auxiliary bishop in Perugia , Diego Parodi MCCJ. On May 26, 1978 Carlesi renounced the titular bishopric of Africa. Rino Carlesi was appointed the first bishop of Balsas on October 26, 1981, following the elevation of the territorial prelature of Santo Antônio de Balsas to the diocese of Pope John Paul II .

On April 15, 1998, John Paul II accepted Rino Carlesi's resignation due to reasons of age.
