Francisco Polti Santillán

Francisco Polti Santillán (born November 17, 1938 in Santiago del Estero , Argentina ) is Bishop Emeritus of Santiago del Estero .

Life

Francisco Polti Santillán joined Opus Dei and was ordained a priest on August 11, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Santo Tomé on July 13, 1994 . The Archbishop of Buenos Aires , Antonio Cardinal Quarracino , ordained him episcopal on August 22 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Edgardo Gabriel Storni , Archbishop of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz , Fortunato Antonio Rossi , Archbishop Emeritus of Corrientes , Domingo Salvador Castagna , Archbishop of Corrientes, and Alfonso Delgado Evers , Bishop of Posadas .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Santiago del Estero on May 17, 2006; the solemn inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on July 22 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on December 23, 2013.
