history
The diocese of Viedma was founded on April 20, 1934 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Papal Bull Nobilis Argentinæ Nationis from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires . The diocese is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Bahía Blanca as a suffragan . The diocese of Viedma gave several times in its history parts of its territory to establish new dioceses.
