Marcelo Angiolo Melani

Marcelo Angiolo Melani SDB (born September 15, 1938 in Florence ) is an Italian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Neuquén .

Life

After joining the order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and completing his philosophical-theological studies, he was ordained a priest on March 21, 1970 . He went to Argentina as a missionary.

July 22, 1993 appointed him Pope John Paul II. For coadjutor bishop of Viedma . He was ordained episcopal on September 18 of the same year by the Bishop of Viedma, Miguel Hesayne . Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of Bahía Blanca , Jorge Mayer , and the Bishop of Neuquén, Agustín Roberto Radrizzani SDB.

With Miguel Hesayne's resignation on June 28, 1995, he succeeded him as Bishop of Viedma. On January 9, 2002, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Neuquén.

On November 8, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. the resignation put forward by Marcelo Angiolo Melani due to illness.
