Virginio Domingo Bressanelli

Virginio Domingo Bressanelli SCI (born May 1, 1942 in Berabevú , Department Caseros ) is an Argentine religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Neuquén in Argentina .

Life

Virginio Domingo Bressanelli joined the order of the Dehonians , made his profession on September 29, 1964 and was ordained a priest on December 17, 1966 .

From 1991 to 2003 he was Superior General of the Order of the Sacred Heart Priests .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Comodoro Rivadavia on February 19, 2005 . The former bishop of Comodoro Rivadavia, Pedro Luis Ronchino SDB , donated him episcopal ordination on May 13 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Marcelino Palentini SCI, Bishop of Jujuy , and Miguel Hesayne , Bishop Emeritus of Viedma .

On February 10, 2010 he was appointed Bishop Coadjutor of Neuquén . With the resignation of Marcelo Angiolo Melanis SDB on November 8 of the next year, he succeeded him as Bishop of Neuquén.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on August 3, 2017.
