Elmer Osmar Ramón Miani

Elmer Osmar Ramón Miani (born April 23, 1933 in Villa Concepción del Tío , Province of Córdoba , Argentina , † May 25, 2014 in the Province of Córdoba ) was Bishop of Catamarca .

Life

Elmer Osmar Ramón Miani attended the minor seminary in Córdoba, then he studied theology and philosophy at the seminary in Córdoba. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Cordoba on September 20, 1958 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Caeciri and auxiliary bishop in Córdoba on November 7, 1983 . He was ordained episcopate on December 12th of the same year by the Archbishop of Cordoba, Cardinal Raúl Francisco Primatesta ; Co- consecrators were Cándido Genaro Rubiolo , Archbishop of Mendoza , and Jesús Arturo Roldán , Auxiliary Bishop in Córdoba.

On December 19, 1989 he was appointed Bishop of Catamarca by John Paul II. The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on March 3, 1990.

Pope Benedict XVI accepted his resignation on December 27, 2007 for health reasons.
