José María Marquez Bernal

José María Marquez Bernal CMF (born September 8, 1915 in Villamanrique , † March 17, 1995 ) was a Roman Catholic religious and prelate of Humahuaca .

Life

José María Márquez Bernal joined the order of the Claretians and was ordained a priest on March 29, 1941 . Paul VI appointed him on October 10, 1973 prelate of Humahuaca and titular bishop of Buxentum .

The delegate of the cathedral building works of St. Peter , Lino Zanini , donated him the episcopal ordination on December 12th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Carlos Mariano Pérez Eslava SDB , Archbishop of Salta , and José Miguel Medina , Bishop of Jujuy .

On November 3, 1977 he renounced his titular bishop's seat in the course of the new allocation guidelines of the Roman Curia. Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation on February 20, 1991.
