history

A restaurant in Kohlsdorf has been mentioned since the 15th century. The documented history of the inn begins on March 27, 1883, when Friedrich Wilhelm Lommatzsch took over the inn "Zum Grünen Thälchen". He added a large hall to the building, which was completed around 1900. At that time, the Einkehr was given the name "Gasthof Kohlsdorf", under which it gained great fame and popularity among the residents of Dresden and the villages in Plauenschen Grund in the years that followed, primarily through dance events and special offers . More buildings followed after 1900. Behind the inn there was an outdoor area with a place for bird shooting .

A bowling alley was built opposite the main building in the 1920s . For a short time a bathing area was set up by the owners of the inn at Hammerteich , but it was closed again due to lack of use. After the world wars, operations could be continued every time, due to a lack of supplies and other restrictions in the GDR era, the inn was closed in 1958. The halls have not been used since then, and the front part of the building was a residential building for a long time . After that, the former inn was completely empty for a few years.

In January 2017, extensive renovation work began on the building complex. A total of 19 two- to four-room apartments are to be built by 2018. The former ballroom cannot be preserved, it is shared with a false ceiling.
