The Gateway Nunatak is a distinctive nunatak in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises not far from the head of the Mackay Glacier and 15 km west of Mount Gran .
The New Zealand Northern Group of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) carried out a geodetic survey of the summit in 1957. She named the Nunatak because it marks the gateway to the Scuppers Icefalls above the Mackay Glacier .
