The Gavarnie Falls ( French Grande Cascade ) are located in the Cirque de Gavarnie , in the French part of the Pyrenees . They are located in the Pyrenees National Park (fr: Parc national des Pyrénées ).

The Grande Cascade falls with a total height of 422 meters in two to three steps into the valley floor and is the highest waterfall in France. The largest single fall section has a height of 281 meters.

Their inflow is fed by a karst lake of Monte Perdido on the Spanish side. The Grande Cascade provides the first major tributary of the Gave de Pau , a source river of the Adour .
