Gaye Dell

Gaye Dell ( Dorothy Gaye Dell, nee Murphy; born October 22, 1948 ) is a former Australian hurdler who specialized in the 100 meter distance .

At the Pacific Conference Games 1973 and at the British Commonwealth Games 1974 in Christchurch, she won silver each.

In 1976 she was eliminated from the Olympic Games in Montreal in advance.

Four times she was Australian champion over 100 m hurdles (1973-1976) and three times over 200 m hurdles (1973-1975). She set her personal best over the 100 m hurdles of 13.33 s on January 29, 1974 in Christchurch . Hand-stopped it scored 13.2 s in Melbourne on January 17, 1976 .

After her sporting career, she became an author and illustrator of children's books.
