The Gayt Dam ( Turkish Gayt Barajı ) is located at Gayt Çayı , a right tributary of Murat 20 km northwest of the provincial capital of Bingol in the same southeastern Turkish province .

The Gayt Dam was built in 1986-1992. It is used to irrigate an area of ​​4200 ha. The barrier structure is a 31.5 m (above the valley floor) high earth embankment . The dam volume is 468,000 m³. The reservoir covers an area of ​​2.92 km² with normal damming and has a storage volume of 23 million m³.
