Gaywood (Norfolk)
Gaywood is a borough of King's Lynn in Norfolk and a civil parish .
Originally it was assigned to the Freebridge Lynn Rural District before being added to the Borough of King's Lynn in 1935 . Since 1974 it has been part of the administrative district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk , like the entire city of King's Lynn .
John de Gray , Bishop of Norwich , built a medieval palace in what is now the city, in the place of which the Bagge family built their ancestral home with Gaywood Hall in the late 19th century . The mansion later housed King's Lynn Technical College . Shared by Anglicans and Methodists , St Faith Church was built by Walter Caroe in the 1920s. The district's infrastructure is well developed with various schools, supermarkets and smaller shops.
