The Gazdzicki Sound ( English ; Polish Cieśnina Gaidzickiego ) is a strait in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In the Destruction Bay of King George Island , it runs between the west bank of the bay and the offshore island of Trowbridge Island .
Polish scientists named them in 1984 after the geologist Andrzej Gazdzicki, who was involved in Polish and Argentine expeditions to the Antarctic from 1978 to 1979.
