The building at Marienstraße 50 in Cuxhaven is under the protection of historical monuments in Lower Saxony and is included in the list of architectural monuments in Cuxhaven .
history
The two-storey plastered building from before 1900 from the historicist era with neo-baroque elements, with a high plinth, the three-storey round turret with viewing platform, the strongly developed ornamental cornice and the entrance risalit was formerly referred to as the "castle" and for the photographer J Albert Fick built. The villa was sold in 1904 and was then used as accommodation for naval services. The owners were from 1907 to 1910 the merchant C. Stoldt, 1911 the lieutenant captain August Altvater, 1912 the postal secretary Georg Meier, whose wife ran a daughter boarding school and from 1913 the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten , which Wilhelm Mauss bought in 1920, Christine Käselau in 1928 and Bernhard Schmidt in 1930 . Around 1930 the Quelle restaurant was opened in the basement , operated by Seekamp.
From 1933 to 1945 the district building of the NSDAP with the name Karl-Kaufmann -Haus (Hamburg Gauleiter ) was here.
After the Second World War , civil navy took over the house.
In 1951 the Evangelical Church in Hamburg acquired the building.
Today (2020) the church district office of Ev.-luth is here. Church district Cuxhaven with u. a. the Diakonisches Werk with parts of a social station (main building at Marienstraße 51) and the Diakonie Shop .
