The building of the Ministry of Forestry of the USSR ( Ukrainian Будинок міністерства лісового господарства УРСР ) is a listed building in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev .
The corner house built in 1952/53 by architects A. Vlasov and A. Sawarow is located on Khreshchatyk No. 30/1, the corner of Kiev's capital boulevard, at the corner of Prorisna Street ( Прорізна вулиця ) and was designed for the then Ministry of Forestry the USSR built what gave it its name.
The building is a striking example of 1950s styles and has been an architectural monument since 1986. The facade along the Khreshchatyk has no protruding elements; the arched windows at the end of the fifth floor reflect the shape of the windows of the neighboring building of the Russian Foreign Trade Bank . Towards Prorisna Street there is a protruding portico with a balcony above that rests on pillars with Corinthian capitals.
Today the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry is located in the building, and the branch of a sporting goods supplier is located on the ground floor facing Khreshchatyk.
