Blätz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Geblätz , also Gebletz , was the name used in the Hessian dialect for a unit of measure of yarn. The piece size is named after the sound of the reel counter when the number of 60 revolutions is reached to form a bundle of 60 threads. The blow, which was called Blatz (mhd. To beat), was generated by the spring on the reel.

  • 1 blow = 60 threads
  • 2 blows = 120 threads
  • 20 blows = 10 bundles = 1 zaspel / number
