The Profen Memorial is a listed memorial in the village of Profen in the Elsteraue community in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the war memorial is listed as a monument under registration number 094 86157 .

The memorial is a small, fenced-in area with two steles . One stele is a former post-distance column from the neighboring town of Pegau . It was erected here in 1875. An inscription can no longer be recognized, so that the purpose of the construction is unknown today. The second stele is a war memorial dedicated to the fallen of the First World War. The stele is multi-tiered and made of red sandstone . It is crowned by an iron cross in which the number 1923 can be seen. The number refers to the year the war memorial was erected. In the stele is a plaque with the inscription Our Fallen Heroes gratefully honors the community of Profen .
