The Gedeputeerde Staten ( GS ; German  " Deputies " ) are the government of a Dutch province . The chairman of the GS is the Commissaris van de Koning , who is appointed by the Minister of the Interior, and the debated members also belong to the body . They are elected by the provincial parliament, the Provinciale Staten .
