Gediminas Budnikas
Gediminas Budnikas (born February 11, 1944 in Paužuoliai , Rajongemeinde Ukmergė ) is a Lithuanian conservative politician and former basketball player .
Life
His parents were partisans and died in 1945. In 1959 Gediminas finished eighth grade at the 4th Kaunas Middle School , then attended the Kaunas food industry technical college and became a technologist. In 1979 he finished his studies in economics at the Kaunas Faculty of the Vilniaus valstybinis universitetas and in 2005 a master’s degree at the Kauno technologijos universitetas . In 2000 he was mayor of Kaunas, from 2001 to 2003 first deputy mayor of Kaunas . He is a member of Tėvynės sąjunga - Lietuvos krikščionys demokratai .
From 1962 played basketball with Kauno Žalgiris , from 1962 to 1974 in the Lithuanian national team.
