Melun prison
The prison in Melun , a French city and seat of the prefecture of the Seine-et-Marne department , was established between 1803 and 1811 on the site of the former Hôtel-Dieu . The prison is located on the Quai de la Courtille and is bordered on one side by the Seine .
During the 19th and 20th centuries, the prison was expanded and rebuilt several times. It is intended for male prisoners only.
