The Avian Influenza Ordinance is a statutory ordinance issued by the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection on the basis of the Animal Diseases Act , which specifies measures to protect against avian influenza . In it are u. a. the compulsory stable and the prohibition of vaccinations are regulated as well as the conditions under which poultry exhibitions and poultry markets may be held.

The Avian Influenza Ordinance was fundamentally revised in 2007. Since then, it has also included the regulations on protection against avian influenza, which were previously regulated in other statutory instruments. The following ordinances were repealed by the new avian influenza ordinance on October 23, 2007:

  • Ordinance on protection against avian influenza and Newcastle disease (avian influenza ordinance) of December 20, 2005,
  • Ordinance on examinations for classic avian influenza and for protection against the spread of classic avian influenza ( Avian influenza protection ordinance ) of September 1, 2005,
  • Ordinance on housing poultry for protection against classic avian influenza (poultry housing ordinance) of May 9, 2006,
  • Fowl Avian Influence Protection Ordinance of 10 August 2006,
  • Wild Bird Fowl Influence Protection Ordinance of September 8, 2006.

With the new version, Directive 2005/94 / EC of the Council of December 20, 2005 with community measures for combating avian influenza ( OJ EU 2006 No. L 10 p. 16) was implemented into German law.
