Geir pollen

Geir Pollen (born April 4, 1953 in Målselv ) is a Norwegian writer .

Life

Geir Pollen graduated with a Masters in Philosophy in Nordic from the University of Tromsø . He made his debut in 1982 with the poetry collection Posteringar i språket . His breakthrough came in 1998 with the novel Hutchinson's Eftf. , which was well received by the critics and nominated for the Brageprisen and the Nordic Council's Literature Prize. The novel has also been translated into Danish, German and Serbian. His poetry collections and the first novel Fall are written in Nynorsk .

From 2001 to 2005 Pollen was chairman of the Norwegian writers' association Den norske Forfatterforeningen . In 2004 he received the Critics' Prize for the best translation of the novel Austerlitz by WG Sebald .
