Eyn geystlich Gesangk Buchleyn

Eyn geystlich Gesangk Buchleyn (Geistliches Gesangbüchlein, also called "Walthersches Gesangbüchlein" or "Walthersches Gesangbuch" after its author), edited by Johann Walter (1496–1570), is the first choral hymn book of the Evangelical Church . It contains movements of three, four and five voices (SATTB). It was published in Wittenberg in 1524 and contains a preface by Martin Luther , of which compositions are also included, such as A Strong Castle and Vom Himmel hoch .
