Geitøya (Averøy)

Geitøya is an island on the Norwegian coast of the North Sea and belongs to the municipality of Averøy in the province of Møre og Romsdal .

It is located at the exit of the Lauvøyfjord . The well-known Atlantic Road, which crosses the fjord and on which there is a parking lot on the island , leads along the southern part of the island . To the east the road leads over the Geitøysund Bridge to the neighboring island of Storlauvøya . The small island of Grisen connects to the southwest . To the northeast is Seiskjæret

The rugged island reaches a length of up to 400 meters from northeast to southwest and a width of up to 300 meters. The only sparsely vegetated island reaches a height of up to about 15 meters. Geitøya is built on with a few smaller buildings. On its eastern coast there is a jetty from which trips to Håholmen , a little further northeast, start. There is also a souvenir shop on the jetty.
