The bill contact is a detector of a hazard alarm system .

With a simple contact mechanism, the bill contact monitors the presence of the bottom bill in a bill compartment of a cash drawer . When this ticket is removed, the attack alarm of the hazard alarm system is triggered.

According to the VdS guidelines, a bank note contact must be installed inconspicuously in the bank note compartment. The triggering of the bill contact must be clearly recognizable and cannot be reset by the operator. This is achieved by sealing.

The bank note contact must be monitored for sabotage .

Banknote contacts hardly play a role in today's security technology and are only rarely used in new systems.
