Affoltern am Albis parish hall
With Municipal House Affoltern am Albis that's old town hall (used from 1817 to 2007) and the new town hall (inaugurated on January 7, 2006) in Affoltern am Albis meant. They are or were the seat of the municipal administration of the political municipality Affoltern.

Location and surroundings
The old parish hall is located in the center of Unterdorf at Zürichstrasse 96 , which runs along the Jonenbach . In the north is the house of water supply and the restaurant / hotel Central. To the east is the old laundry house of the Reformed Church , to the south is the pastor's house.
History and use
The old parish hall was built in 1817. A sandstone staircase leads to the side of the entrance, and the attic is a half-timbered construction. At first it was used as a school. The large classroom on the main floor took up the southern half of the building. Next to it was a smaller classroom, and above it was a spacious, five-room teacher's apartment. After around 1900 the house was used as a community hall. Due to a lack of space, some departments were housed in rented apartments.
New parish hall
Location and surroundings
The new parish hall is located at Marktplatz 1 between the four streets of Zürichstrasse, Obere Bahnhofsstrasse and outer Grundstrasse. The square is used as a marketplace on Saturdays . In the northeast is the casino , in the east the underground car park of the community center and the nearby shops, in the south four apartment blocks and in the west the outer main street.
History and use
The planning lasted from 2003 to 2004. The construction was carried out by the company Müller Sigrist Architekten ETH and was completed in 2006; a year earlier than planned. The construction costs amounted to 23'000'000 francs .
With non-load-bearing lightweight walls, office units of different sizes can be easily created and changed at any time. It is heated with its own wood chip heater. A large hall is available for various events.
