Gene Dunlap

Gene Dunlap (born June 19, 1954 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American musician.

Dunlap began playing drums during high school and was acquainted with Earl Klugh , for whom he made his first appearances. Further collaborations took place with Grant Green and Roy Ayers . He played with Klugh again and again, including on numerous publications.

From 1981 he presented solo albums, occasionally as a band leader, mostly in the style of smooth jazz with funk influences. His last album to date was released in 2004.
