General of the Attack Airmen
The general of the attack pilots was a service position within the German air force .
The service was located in the Oberkommando der Luftwaffe (OKL) and was established in September 1943. The first general of the attack pilots was Lieutenant Colonel Ernst Kupfer , who held the position until he died on November 6, 1943. His successor until the end of the war was Major General Hubertus Hitschhold .
