from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

General z. b. V. in the high command were two departments within the Wehrmacht .

There were two different departments which used a general “for special use” (e.g. V.). One of the departments was assigned to the Air Force, but the more important to the Army.

General e.g. V. in the Army High Command

There was an office at the Army High Command , which was created from October 1940 until the end of the war by Eugen Müller . As a new "Group Legal Affairs in the OKH", the previous Group III of the Quartermaster General was subordinate to him , whereby he was responsible for the criminal matters of the army, such as confirmation / annulment of court martial judgments or appraisal of requests for clemency .

General for example V. in the Army High Command was subordinate to a general for military literature. This position was filled by Kurt Dittmar from April 1942 . The head of the editorial department, Wilhelm von Schramm, was also assigned to the office. I.a. the Commander-in-Chief of the Army has applied for a certificate of recognition from the Army Department.

From the time it was set up, the department was assigned to the Army Department with the groups prison system , field justice administration and legal system . From 1943 the subordinate army department was structured as follows:

  • Chief group (e.g. for organization, personnel matters and special orders of the head of department)
  • Group I (political affairs, connection with the NSDAP , questions of pastoral care, questions of ethnicity ), from March 1944 to the Nazi command staff of the army
  • Group II (intellectual support, military leadership), from March 1944 to the Nazi command staff of the army
  • Group III (discipline and discipline, war graves, honorary cemeteries, war losses), from March 1944 as head of the Wehrmacht patrol service
  • Group IV (army reporting, army advertising), since 1943
  • Group V (processing of the army's contributions to the Wehrmacht report , demands and suggestions for propaganda ), since 1943
  • Defense group (including connection to OKW / Foreign Office / Defense , Defense of the Field Army, evaluation of field post test reports)
  • Army Field Police Chief Group (Supervision and technical management of the Secret Field Police )

In the General Army Office, there was also an Office Group / Army Department (H), which was responsible for general troop affairs, and which was also incorrectly referred to as the Army Department .

General e.g. V. in the Air Force High Command

The German Air Force had such an agency until 1941. She was based in the Air Force High Command (OKL). The only known officer in this position in the Air Force was Major General and later Lieutenant General Walter Lorenz , who held the position from May 1, 1941 to December 20, 1941.
