Gentilini is a winery from Lixouri on Kefalonia (→ Viticulture in Greece ), which is owned by the Cosmetatos family. In addition to its own vineyard area of ​​7.5 hectares , the winery also purchases its grapes from contract winemakers who work over 20 hectares.

history

The owner family can look back on a long history in viticulture - since 1984 wines have been offered under the name Gentilini (the maternal name of the owner Spiros Cosmetatos). The name goes back to an older winery that was active on the island from 1780. Cosmetatos hired the winemaker Giorgos Skouras, who was trained in Dijon , France . The wines are sold by renowned wine merchants such as Justerini & Brooks , Bibendum , Simon Loftus and Oddbins . The breakthrough came a few years ago when Pierre Rovani ( Parker's Wine Guide ) and later the Michelin Guide wrote about the winery.
