Location of the community of Scholen in the district of Diepholz

Scholen is a municipality in the Diepholz district in Lower Saxony . The community belongs to the combined community Schwaförden , which has its administrative seat in Schwaförden . Scholen consists of three locations: Scholen, Blockwinkel and Anstedt.

Geographical location

Scholen is located south of the Wildeshauser Geest nature park, roughly halfway between Bremen and Osnabrück and roughly halfway between the small towns of Bassum and Sulingen in Lower Saxony .

Incorporations

On March 1, 1974, the previously independent community of Anstedt was incorporated.

Buildings

• Windmill . It is a gallery Dutch mill with a height of 21 meters. Its substructure (10 m × 10 m) is made of bricks , while the pile and the hood are covered with wooden shingles. The venetian blinds have a length of 9.60 m.

Natural monuments

• The linden tree in the churchyard is a court linden tree . Seven linden trees have grown together into one tree.

The federal road 61 , which leads from Bassum to Minden , runs directly through the municipality .

education

• The two- to three-class elementary school, in which the children from Anstedt and Neuenkirchen are also trained, has been at its current location since 1979. The building dates from 1957, extensions were built in 1990 and 1997.
• Since 1979 there has also been a traveling factory school in Scholen, which offers school refusal a real chance to graduate from school.
