history

The oldest spelling can be found in a document from the Corvey monastery from the 13th century. There a Thetmarus de Diekla is mentioned from 1238 to approx. 1250. The name Dickel is derived from this noble family. The name Dickel is already mentioned in the 13th century. At that time the Corvey Monastery also had goods here.

The Dickel municipal council consists of seven councils, all of which have been provided by the Dickel Voting Association (WGD) since the local elections on September 11, 2016 . Mayor is Günther Meyer (WGD).
