Band history
The Gentrys were founded in Memphis in 1963. In a very short time, they earned the reputation of the area's most popular teenage band with numerous appearances at high school dance events. In 1965 they got a record deal and their first single Sometimes was released. The song remained a regional success, but the song Keep On Dancing , released in late 1965 , became a million seller . It was to remain the only one, although the group stayed together intermittently until 1971.
Singer James "Jimmy" Hart is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame and is active as a wrestling manager under the name "Mouth of the South".
