The Genoese World Map or Genoese Map is an oval world map from 1457. Its author is unknown. The map is probably based mostly on the travel reports of Niccolo di Conti rather than those of Marco Polo . In terms of its modernity, it corresponds to the map of Fra Mauro or even surpasses it due to the well-designed representation of the continents. The map also shows a three-masted European-looking ship in the Indian Ocean, although it should not be a representation of actual conditions at that time. A Genoese flag in the upper northwest corner of the map represents the origin of this map, along with the coat of arms of the Spinolas , a prominent Genoese merchant family.

The card is now in the possession of the Italian government and is in the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale in Florence .

Gerda Brunnlechner argues that the map can be read in four directions.
