Geoffrey Parnell

Geoffrey Parnell is a British historian. He is Keeper of the History of the Tower with the Royal Armories . Parnell has carried out extensive archaeological excavations in the tower, published various books and numerous articles on the history of the fortress.

Before his appointment as the official historian of the Towers of London, he worked as the Inspector of Ancient Monument for English Heritage - already in this position he had a special responsibility for the Tower of London. In the TV miniseries The Tower on Channel 4 , he appears as himself in seven out of eight episodes. He did his PhD on the history of the Board of Ordnance .
